Welcome to First Grade!
First grade is challenging, exciting and very fun! This year, your child will be learning how to read, add, subtract, count money and tell time. We will also be learning about the weather, crawling insects, community helpers, and much more!
About Me
My name is Khalan Heid. I am a member of the Watervliet community and am a graduate of both the elementary and high school. I enjoy playing basketball and soccer, and my cat Cameron!
This will be my 3rd year teaching first grade. I really enjoy teaching first grade because it is a critical year for students. It will be amazing and exciting for you to see the growth your child makes throughout the year. Children at this age are so excited to learn new things and show they're learning, whether it is an addition problem they are getting correct, reading a book or tying their shoes! Watching each step they take is very exciting! Enjoy their learning and the changes they will make!
